Regional Workforce Impact Program
Building a Diverse, Robust, and Resilient Workforce
With funding from the North Dakota Department of Commerce Regional Workforce Impact Program, SBPC is leading a workforce attraction and retention strategy focused on building a more diverse, robust, and resilient workforce. In partnership with Visit Minot, SBPC is looking to engage community members and local leaders in the process. The proposed strategy consists of developing a regional identity, messaging, and platform that will help attract and retain employees. The goal is more than workforce attraction. It’s identifying ways to make our region more attractive for generations to come. It’s establishing a vision of the future for our communities. It’s showing what will be lost if we continue to lose current and potential residents.
Visit Minot’s expertise will be critical in creating a regional identity for ND Region 2. This identity will be used to attract prospective employees, businesses, and future leaders. Through our collaboration with local partners and communities, we will define and promote the strengths that make Region 2 the ideal location to “Live. Work. Play."
The process will engage leaders from Bottineau, Burke, McHenry, Mountrail, Pierce, Renville, and Ward Counties, and the Three Affiliated Tribes (Region 2), in a collaborative effort to establish a shared vision for our region.

Asking the Right Questions
To be successful, local leaders will ask:
What does my community need from the other Region 2 communities?
How can my community contribute to the success of other regional efforts?
How can we work together to achieve shared goals?
What resources do we need?
How do we attract/develop those resources?
How can we leverage state resources to increase exposure for our region?
